Advanced 802.11 Chipset Push Wi-Fi Into The Video Home
SparkLAN Mini PCI Wireless Module, WMIM-272N, with advanced Metalink’s WLANPlus chipset MtW8151/ MtW8171, fully supports the features and functional compliance with the IEEE 802.11n draft standard. It is the optimized solution for the next generation of home and multimedia delivery over wireless networks, such as the current mainstream applications and emerging applications like HDTV, gaming and VoIP etc.

 

Increased Data and Coverage
Operating in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands, the MtW8151 RF IC greatly improves WMIM-272N’s data rate reliability. It integrates the latest MIMO technology, which brings about a significant increase in wireless coverage range.


Power Efficiency
The MtW8171 baseband IC integrates the full media-access controller (MAC) function, which helps WMIM-272N dramatically reduce the required processing horsepower and memory allocation from an application's host processor. This makes it easy to implant into AP, Client Bridge, and embedded system. The high-performance compact solution allows reducing total product cost.


Secure Wireless Connection

The WMIM-272N module offers enhanced data protection. It has security support of IEEE 802.11i standard and all the usual WLAN security modes, such as 64/128 bit WEP, WPA, WPA2, TKIP, AES.
